For the fifth time in succession, Vienna heads the statistics of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) again this year. In the recently published rankings for 2009, the Austrian capital ranks first place with a total of 160 international congresses. Behind the winner, the next slots were occupied by Barcelona (135) and Paris (131), closely followed by Berlin (129) and Singapore (119) as well as Copenhagen (103) and Stockholm (102). With a total of 236 international congresses (68% of them in Vienna) Austria has reached again the top ten in the ICCA’s country ranking, and is now in 10th place. With 595 international congresses, the USA was able to extend its lead, followed by Germany (458) and Spain (360).
