Alternatives to the CCD

You can read that the new Convention Centre Dublin is a totally impressive building here. But no matter how flashy, trendy and attractive the Convention Centre is, Dublin also has several alternatives for large-scale events.

Radisson Blu St. Helen's Hotel
With 11 dedicated meeting and event suites located on two floors that can accommodate up to 350 people, Dublin’s Radisson Blu St. Helen's Hotel boasts some of the finest conference facilities in the city. Designed to exceed expectations, each of the Dublin meeting rooms provides plentiful natural daylight, free high-speed Internet access for meeting delegates, and high-quality audiovisual equipment. Several rooms are wheelchair accessible for the comfort of guests. The hotel offers facilities to cater for small, intimate meetings, 350 guests theatre-style, a reception for 300 people, or dinner for 250. St. Helen's is an ideal choice for incentive groups and residential conferences.

Royal Dublin Society
The Royal Dublin Society (RDS) was founded in 1731 to promote the development of Agriculture, Arts, Industry, and Science in Ireland. The Society moved to its 42-acre site in 1879, and today – while still maintaining its proud heritage – it is one of Ireland’s premier event venues with 10 multi-purpose exhibition halls, an outdoor stadium, meeting rooms, bars, restaurants and parking for over 2,000 cars.

Grand Canal Theatre
This recently opened 2,111 capacity purpose-built theatre was designed by world renowned architect Daniel Libeskind. With its magnificent auditorium, it is an outstanding addition to Ireland’s theatre world. If you do not wish to hold your meeting there, you can always include a performance from its programme in your activities.

Aviva Stadium
Aviva Stadium – nearly as new as the Convention Centre Dublin – stands on the grounds of the world’s oldest international stadium and hosts the Irish International rugby and soccer teams. Just opened in May 2010, the refurbished iconic stadium is one of the newest national stadiums in Europe. The conference facilities consist of 18 distinct spaces over five of the seven stadium levels, plus 35 corporate boxes of various capacities. Spaces vary in size but cover capacities of up to 700 people in any one space. Also available are: the state-of-the-art Media Auditorium with seating for 150 guests, key outdoor marquee areas, and blank canvas event spaces. The majority of spaces have a unique vista overlooking the famous Lansdowne Road pitch. Aviva Stadium will lend a special sporting aura to your visit.
