"Women creating a safe world – this was the theme of the World Young Women Christian Association Council in Zürich that brought together almost thousand participants from more than hundred countries of all continents. The Swiss host association Cevi Schweiz, a youth organization working mainly with volunteers, could also count on Zürich Tourism as a strong partner and the organizing committee very much appreciated the easy way of communicating with the staff at the congress venue, the beautifully located Kongresshaus at Lake Zürich.

Zürich was seen as a very attractive meeting place because of its beautiful scenery and the short distances to the airport, shopping facilities and tourist attractions. Furthermore, the YWCA participants appreciated very much being able to enjoy night life in a safe surrounding. Last but not least, the cooperative way of communication with the public authorities made organizing of the YWCA World Council with many special requirements very convenient."
