Solaris Centre, Tallinn's new, multifunctional entertainment and event centre, has opened its doors. The centre includes a total of 14 halls, the largest of which, the Nokia Concert Hall, has the capacity to seat 1,800 delegates in theatre style. The high-tech, eco-friendly facility will be home to a dance academy (3 halls), the Cinnamon Cinema (7 halls) and an art house cinema (2 halls). Nine of the halls will be set up in theatre style and three in classroom style. There will also be 3,300 m² of lobby area that can be used for various functions. The centre will be an ideal locale for conferences, cultural events, movie screenings and sports competitions.

The Solaris Centre has already generated strong interest among international event organisers. Events already booked and confirmed include: the Golden Mask Theatre Festival in 2009, the European Film Awards and the New York Philharmonics in 2010, the World Championship in Bodybuilding in 2011 and the Conference of European Gynaecologists in 2012.
